PENETRON Hellas Graduates 1,500 Trainees within a Year

Greece

Opened just over a year ago, the PENETRON Hellas Training Center in Athens, Greece, welcomed its very first trainee, and this month, the 1,500th trainee has graduated. The programs focus on the technology of concrete waterproofing and the effective application of crystalline products from PENETRON, widely used in the construction industry.

Theodor Mentzikofakis, General Director of PENETRON Hellas, emphasizes the importance of offering training to partners and clients. “From the moment we began with the company, I had a clear vision of a training center that would help us raise awareness of crystalline technology and help develop our markets. It has become an incredibly important part of our business in a very short time.”

College for concrete durability & waterproofing
Located in Athens, near the headquarters of PENETRON Hellas, the PENETRON Training Center welcomes industry partners (engineers, applicators, consultants), dealers, PENETRON-certified contractors and applicators, university and vocational school students and, last but not least, international clients and PENETRON employees. The majority of the graduates comes from Greece and Cyprus, and increasingly from southeastern Europe (including Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, etc.) and beyond (Israel, Turkey, the Middle East, South Africa, Mauritius, Nigeria, Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Australia, etc.).

“Honestly, this is an impressive record for the PENETRON training team,” says Mr. Mentzikofakis. “No other company in the construction industry in the Mediterranean region can boast of such an achievement.”

Industry-Wide Collaboration
The training courses and product demonstrations range from 1-2-day courses to week-long seminars. The topics include:

  • General overview of the chemistry and longevity factors of concrete
  • The crystalline technology behind the PENETRON System
  • PENETRON product briefings & market overviews
  • Using the right tool: correct application methods
  • Demonstrations (multiple-product application practice sessions)
  • Flooring applications (PSP products: primers, self-levelers, vapor barriers, etc.)
  • Field training and seminars (in collaboration with local dealers)

The PENETRON Hellas team collaborates with a wide range of industry experts (contractors, civil engineers, industrial equipment companies, etc.), engineers, architects, and certified PENETRON contractors to keep the training courses up-to-date and relevant. The courses adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 quality standards, as well.

“Next year, we expect to increase enrollment to our training center by 50%,” adds Mr. Mentzikofakis. “This shows how interest in innovative solutions – such as crystalline technology – is booming across the construction industry.”
