Description
The Adler Railway Station in Sochi – one of the largest railway terminals in Russia – serves the Adler district of Sochi and is part of the North Caucasus Railway line. The station occupies over 60,000 m2 (645,850 square feet) and has an average capacity of 3,000-5,000 passengers per hour. It can, however, hold up to 20,000 passengers per hour (as demonstrated on the opening day of the 2014 Olympic Games).
Products Used
Because of the station’s proximity to the Black Sea (directly adjacent to the tracks) and the high water table at the site, the building’s concrete foundations were treated with a range of PENETRON products to eliminate any water penetration and corrosion.
