Description
The town’s new D’Angelis Water Treatment Facility treats almost 50% of the town’s drinking water needs. The new plant was built after elevated PFAS (“forever chemicals”) levels above new Massachusetts State PFAS regulations were detected in the tap water. The $5.2 million facility comprises four 20,000-pound filtration tanks containing granular activated carbon (GAC) for PFAS removal, a treatment building, and residuals holding tanks. Thanks to improved treatment processes, the new plant now complies with PFAS regulations to protect public health.
