Description
General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego has been the site of ship design, construction, and repair since 1960 and is the largest full-service shipyard on the west coast of the United States. Ships for the U.S. Navy, oil tankers, and dry cargo carriers for commercial markets can be found in its dry docks, berths, and assembly areas. The shipyard encompasses 80 acres of land and 46 acres of water and serves as a principal repair facility for the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet.
Products Used
Penetron-treated concrete will be used in the project’s four-foot thick slab, built to withstand the weight of extraordinarily heavy equipment used in ship construction and repair. PENEBAR, in particular, will be used between the slab and the 2.9 feet thick walls.
