Ministry of Internal Affairs

Tbilisi, Georgia

Description

Designed by the German architectural studio of Jürgen Mayer, the new Ministry of Internal Affairs (Internal Police) building uses glass and concrete and is built in the shape of a wave. It is a prime example of the flood of fresh architectural projects recently being completed across Georgia, particularly government offices.

The Turkish construction company managing the project recommended the use of integrated PENETRON technology to replace the (5-layer) membrane originally specified. PENETRON crystalline material was applied to the walls (300 m2 / 3,230 square feet) of the water reservoirs; PENETRON ADMIX (150 m3 / 196 cubic yards) was added to the concrete poured for the reservoir basement structure.
