One of 13 institutions within the University of Texas (UT) system, UT Health San Antonio is a world-class academic health center that offers medical training, research, and clinical care services. Student enrollment is 3,527 (Fall 2022), with an additional 921 medical residents and 154 postgraduate trainees. PENETRON ADMIX SB, delivered in pre-measured soluble bags, was added to the concrete mix during batching. Once part of the concrete mix, the active ingredients in the admixture react in a catalytic reaction to the moisture in concrete. This reaction generates a non-soluble crystalline formation throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete. The entire concrete matrix is now impermeable, stopping the penetration of groundwater and moisture from any direction.
